An original sixteenth century coaching inn on the outskirts of the picturesque village of Grasmere, The Travellers Rest epitomises the traditional Lakeland inn. Full of old world charm and character with oak beams and inglenooks, roaring log fires in winter and beer gardens with panoramic views in summer, comfortable bedrooms, real ales and award winning food.

The Travellers Rest Inn offers eight letting bedrooms comprising six double and two twin rooms, seven of which have en suite facilities (shower, basin and toilet) and one with private bathroom. All bedrooms have wonderful views of the surrounding fells and are individually furnished with colour television and tea & coffee making facilities.

Our bar restaurant, popular with locals and tourists alike, presents an extensive menu of award winning food featuring local and provincial dishes. Our traditional bar features many local real ales, an extensive cellar of fine wines and a wide range of malt whiskies.
