Traveller's Rest has been refurbished.
If you've ever searched for accommodation in the Lake District, especially Grasmere, you know the limited choice there is for authentic, Cumbrian, dog friendly accommodation. There are plenty of large hotels, old fashioned B&Bs and pubs in Grasmere, but we wanted to create something different.
Traveller's Rest is a 16th century coaching inn on the outskirts of Grasmere and we've always been determined to preserve the authentic feel and original features of our Inn. We have also been very lucky to have a large number of guests visiting us time and time again over the years, Lake District enthusiasts with real passion for mountains and the great outdoors.
In the last 12 months we've been carefully listening to the feedback our guests give us and we knew it was time for change.
6 months later, we are delighted to share with our guests the new, updated rooms at our Inn!
The refurbishment work saw the staircase being moved across to the other side of the building, creation of 2 new rooms and an upgrade of all existing bedrooms to higher standards. In result, we now offer 3 Standard Double bedrooms (all of which are dog friendly), 2 Standard Twin rooms (one of which is dog friendly), 4 King Double rooms and one Superior King Double room. The King Double and Superior King double rooms are not pet friendly due to being carpeted, but we still welcome pets in our bar and restaurant area.
We hope to welcome many more Lake District enthusiasts in our Cumbrian Inn and we are excited for the future project. For now, please see the photos of our new rooms below.
